Yadata Acquired by Microsoft

Microsoft announced an agreement to acquire YaData Ltd., a provider of advanced tools for the discovery of unique customer segments. Yadata was part of Giza’s Ofek seed program and the investment was made in 2007. The acquisition provides a 202% IRR which is a 3.3 multiple on our investment. YaData’s technology will enable Microsoft to provide its advertisers with richer targeting capabilities so they can connect with their audience in more efficient and engaging ways, at the same time providing its customers with more relevant and focused advertisements. The YaData team will join Microsoft's Israel R&D center in Herzliya and YaData’s solutions will be deployed through Microsoft’s Advertiser and Publisher Solutions group.

New Investments
Arbel Medical

Giza led a $3 million investment round in Arbel Medical, a company which develops innovative, minimally invasive Cryo-therapy products, for the treatment of breast tumors and other internal diseased tissue. Arbel’s easy to use product will be compatible though not limited to office based treatment and will significantly improve patient care.

ViewFinity

Giza led a Series A round investment of $5 million in VeiwFinity. JK&B also participated in the round. Viewfinity was founded by three serial entrepreneurs who collaborated previously in establishing and selling XOsoft to Computer Associates. The company provides Active Desktop Management Solutions via a SaaS platform. The emerging unique set of desktop management solutions provides significant costs savings by eliminating the need for desk/remote terminal visits which in turn accelerates helpdesk resolution time, thus reducing end user inoperability periods.

IMScouting

As part of our seed investment program, Ofek, Giza invested in IMScouting a company developing a professional information server for the international football industry that will also provide attractive service for sports fans worldwide.
